Club Trip To Big River

It's been a few years since we headed up to the Big River but recent reports are that the fishing has come back.  Last time we were there some really nice fish were picked up.

If you you're thinking of heading up even for an overnighter, drop the Trip Coordinator, Pat Sheridan, a line so he can keep an ear out for you.  Look forward to catching up over a beer.

Getting There

(Ref Rooftop's Big River, Rubicon, Woods Point Forest Activities Map - In the newsletter)

Make your way to Marysville which is approx 80km from the club rooms and allow yourself an hour and a half to get there if you travel via Yarra Glen, Healsville, and over the Black Spur. The Marysville Country Bakery serves excellent coffee & sticky buns! It opens at 7.00am and is on the right as you drive through town.

Trip Description:

This was an annual Club trip for many years on the Australia Day Holiday long weekend in January.  Many of the long term Club members have cut their fly fishing teeth on this trip over the years.   New members are encouraged to attend this trip, as there are usually plenty of fish in the River.  We will endeavour to buddy you up with a more experienced member to fish with, for at least part of the weekend if possible.

The November Day Trip is centred around the township of Noojee, concentrating on the Latrobe, Toorongo, Ada and Loch Rivers.
