Description - The King Parrot Creek is a waterway every member of the Club should become familiar with. It has some great pieces of water for every level. Open pools which will suit the beginner through to the more technical closed in sections.
The fish are never huge, however they are usually feisty and never easy to fool. I would start off with a couple of nymphs; one heavy and one unweighted. I will start with a #12 blue Wired Nymph and a #14 PTN, just to get an idea of what might be happening and then start playing around with size and colour. This is the opening weekend so nobody is really sure how this is going to eventuate. No doubt the fish will be down deep and with the water cold, there will not be a lot of action early.
With this in mind we’ll meet at the Hazeldene store at 8 AM and allocate runs. If you buy me a coffee, I might even tell you where they caught the 10lb rainbow last year in AJ’s secret water.
We’ll meet at the Flowerdale Hotel for lunch to discuss tactics and rework partners and runs. It has been very enjoyable to sit outside in the sun enjoying a quiet ale and the great feed served at the pub.
